arce@arce (2026-06-03 00:28:44) Seems iambic.social has been down since yesterday. Will it return?

arce@arce (2026-06-03 00:05:54) Getting my domain name hooked up to the new blog. Forgot I was forwarding it, had to turn that off. Funny that forwarding trumps all the alias and c-name stuff.

arce@arce (2026-06-02 23:04:09) Looks like I'm on the way back to big-boy blogging. Stay tuned for details.

arce@arce (2026-06-02 23:02:36) Pretty is as pretty does, my momma used to say
Simple is as simple goes, so throw some things away.

arce@arce (2026-06-02 10:26:46) # Markdown would be nice.

It's merely text, right?

With a bit of flair.

arce@arce (2026-06-02 10:23:55) The world is small, inhabited by one.
And soon the population will be none.

arce@arce (2026-06-02 10:16:52) For some time now I've had a microblog on a little site that has no social aspect to it at all. Very simple. Pretty nice. Just occurred to me that #tinyap pretty much fills the bill for simplicity while still allowing for interaction. Even better.

arce@arce (2026-05-31 08:36:10) This post is brought to you by the letter M.

arce@arce (2026-05-31 05:56:33) The day was a mixture of wonderful things and frustrating moments. It's called life.

arce@arce (2026-05-30 04:13:37) deceit and falsehoods
whirlwinds scorch the earth's surface
truth dies in desert

Reply to @aaa arce@arce (2026-05-29 20:26:04) Yup, having to type in the whole thing is cumbersome.

Reply to @aaa arce@arce (2026-05-29 20:12:06) Cool! Glad to know.
Curious if there's a way to see notifications without going to the specific page for them ...

arce@arce (2026-05-29 09:29:21) Saw that @adele was offering space and a person can use #publii ... I downloaded that once, but never did anything with it. May investigate it again ...

arce@arce (2026-05-29 07:15:38) @aaa
Is there a roadmap for tinyap, or is this an experiment that will soon get retired?

Reply to @aaa arce@arce (2026-05-26 23:26:46) I was able to find some of my stuff on archive.org back to 2000, but I know I had a site up before that.

Thanks, as far as a personal blog, I've dithered far too long. I'm just a low-brow normie, so it's not easy ...

arce@arce (2026-05-26 06:56:58) The pale yellow background of #tinyap reminds me, fondly, of a website I did back in the late 90s or early 2000s using html. However, I was never so glad to get away from doing a site by hand, when apps like WordPress came along. Then, later, WP became a monster and it wasn't fun anymore.

arce@arce (2026-05-25 22:25:20) Time stopped and life paused
A new Phase-Moment began

arce@arce (2026-05-25 05:04:07) Not a bit hungry, even though we ate nearly six hours ago, and it wasn't even a big meal. But if we don't eat something before long, tomorrow we'll wake up famished. What a dilemma ...

arce@arce (2026-05-24 00:05:23) To blog or not to blog -- that's not the question --
But where, to not give a normie indigestion?

arce@arce (2026-05-20 23:36:32) Quite noticeable the difference in loading time between #tinyap and others ...

arce@arce (2026-05-20 01:39:54) Plans are good, but over-rated;
With daily needs let them be weighted.

arce@arce (2026-05-17 09:03:10) Some people think too much, some not enough.
And some think not at all, mere huff and puff.

Reply to @philip@gotosocial.wittamore.fr arce@arce (2026-05-17 00:16:11) Ah, understood. We put ceramic tiles on our roof some time back, supposedly last longer and need less maintenance. We'll see. :)

Reply to @philip@gotosocial.wittamore.fr arce@arce (2026-05-16 21:32:28) Nice! Looking good. What material is the roofing?

arce@arce (2026-05-16 21:31:32) Communication is a risky activity, even under the best of circumstances. Distance, language, culture, and values all enter in the mix to complicate meaning.
