I get that Olly wants to sell his web service. I also sell a web service. But I'm never going to discourage people from building their own web pages and being truly independent, if they want to explore that. I think the "IndieWeb" has gravitated toward too many layers of abstraction, and it's especially sad when we're abstracting people away from the beautiful simplicity of an HTML file on a server.

This part really cracked me up:

We're not operating a nuclear reactor here. Making a web page and sticking it on a web server is one of the most simple and maintenance-free things you can do on the web.
And if anyone ever runs into problems writing HTML, please feel free to just ask me for help. Any time. No LLMs needed. 👍

I think Olly kinda missed the point of Hardcore Indieweb. It's a piece reminding everyone that making your own web pages yourself and uploading them to a web server is still an option in 2026, and it's the *only* option that eliminates your reliance on others. The only actual "indie" option. It may not be the best option for everyone, but it's still an option!

人間は生きようとしてエネルギー源を勝手に調達するから、人間のための計算だけが目的のLLMと違って、脳の維持が目的な以上価値判断が異なって、生きることのおまけで計算をフリーで生み出してるように見えるのかな
