Due to ongoing disappointment with how infosec.exchange moderates racism (or doesn't, as the case may be), and a conversation with one of their moderators which very much left us disillusioned as to their capcacity for taking racism seriously, we will be blocking that instance from mastodon.art in two weeks.

@Curator @wendynather I haven’t seen racism from any folks I know on infosec.exchange, but I know that @jerry has been battling a lot of AI bot accounts on the instance recently that have been spreading right-wing nonsense.

@Curator Thank you so much for taking the action (and the flak) to back up your principles. We all need to be doing this, but I'm aware that for mods the burden of that can be a lot. Being anti-racist for the accolades is both gross and wildly misinformed, and it's clear (*gestures to some comments*), that wasn't your goal. Thank you, anyway.

Today we're following through with blocking infosec.exchange from mastodon.art . We will revise the block if we see evidence of (continued, sustained) improvement from them regarding their handling of racism (as we have done with blocked instances in the past).
