Based on prior discussions, a storage based subscription plan for MakerTube could look like this:

- free until 2GB
- 10GB/mo 3€
- 100GB/mo 5€
- 250GB/mo 10€
- 500GB/mo 20€
- 1000GB/mo 35€

The plan is to enable it for new users in the near future and move existing users over later this year.

I'm also thinking of a subscription model for MakerTube like Spectra is discussing it. Price increase at Hetzner's is hitting us quite hard (roughly +30%) and I don't know how to cover costs for future storage increase. Sadly I must say that the donation based approach has its limits. A good portion of the costs are covered by early adopters even though we see a constant growth in the user base. Wdyt? #peertube #makertube #finance #donations #hetzner #hosting #costs
