May 24, north of Pietown, the trail follows a dirt road for a day or two. It was exposed and not much fun. Fast, though, and passing cars offered me water and candy. The groundhogs would sometimes stop to check me out. I'm told that De Maria's famous lightning field (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lightning_Field) is not far from here.
