May 25, a rainy road walk south of Grants. Unlike Human (trail name) here, my 3 oz rain jacket was not up to the challenge. Just look at him: rain jacket, umbrella, rain skirt... He said it still sucked, but the gear looked worth the weight to me. (I bought an emergency poncho in Grants, and it was such an upgrade that I'm team poncho from here on)
