@Tini For water reservoirs, I sometimes use the cut off bottoms of smartwater bottles, which is probably the lightest solution, but this time I used a pair of collapsible silicone cups with lids (1.9 oz each). Heavy, but the lids meant that I could put them away wet without worrying about stains. 5/8

The lightest setup I've used is a plastic makeup container where I removed the make-up and added my own paint in the wells. That can get down to one ounce or less, but the downside is a limited palette and difficulty replacing colors with new ones. I have an https://arttoolkit.com palette which is light (about 2.5 oz full), and has a pan system that makes it easy to swap out colors. 6/8

@Tini
The palette I use the most, and brought on this trip is an old Windsor & Newton Sketcher's Pocket Set. It came with Cotman colors, which are student grade but not awful, and I used them up years ago and replaced them with regular half pans of mostly Dan Smith. There are 12 colors, which is enough that I don't feel like I'm missing anything, and there's just enough space for mixing. 7/8
