@Tini
The palette I use the most, and brought on this trip is an old Windsor & Newton Sketcher's Pocket Set. It came with Cotman colors, which are student grade but not awful, and I used them up years ago and replaced them with regular half pans of mostly Dan Smith. There are 12 colors, which is enough that I don't feel like I'm missing anything, and there's just enough space for mixing. 7/8
---Reply--- Ben Bittner@ben@mastodon.art (2026-09-30 03:07:12) @Tini Total weight was about 12oz, stored in a gallon ziploc bag. For a thru I would probably get rid of the silicone cups, and try to optimize towards 8oz. That may seem heavy, but it's my luxury item, and I can still keep my pack under 10 pounds. Some people carry five pounds of camera gear! Sorry for the long reply! 8/8
