@ben the different shades of blue created by multiple layers of one blue ink or actually came from different blue inks?

@noy they're all the same, straight from the tube. The lightest one is a second printing without reinking, the next one I wiped some of the ink off, just to see what that looked like. The last is just a normal printing.
