@grishka SFSymbols are mostly ok, except that they are absolutely not backportable. Still, far better than previous sets of raster images.

@voiddweller they don't have defined sizes and don't follow any grid so they render as an absolute mess of pixels, especially on low-dpi screens, but it's noticeable even on retina. You can't unsee it once you see it, sorry

@voiddweller I guess that does look passable on iPhones, since those use OLED displays that have subpixel arrangements that don't allow for sharp 1-pixel lines, so you can't really tell the difference anyway

@grishka you should think of them as text, not as 24x24 icons from pictogrammers. You don't have fixed sizes for alphabet letters, and you don't have them for symbols too.
Most apple devices are retina anyway, and for other devices just use material icons. Or any other set. They are typically nice and square.
No, the biggest pain is that if they introduce some icon in iOS 27, there is absolutely no easy way to show it in iOS 26. Oh, and they just change their names sometimes.
