When I joined Mastodon end of 2022, I had no followers and was not following anyone, it was so new, I had no idea.

There was a 'timeline'. New to me.
I saw @georgetakei  posted something and that I could check the profile, and hit' Follow'. He was the first one I followed.

Suddenly, @rianvisser followed me. And I could click on 'Follow' to follow back!

@fubaroque  was the third to follow me, and along with @ionica as nr 4, @Herman as nr 5, and with @Farmahond and @tjaap in these early numbers after that, I really had actual interaction. With real people!
And you're all still here! I love it.

This has been a fantastic experience for me: I was way too shy for Twitter/X, and didn't like Facebook's 'look at me all shiny and fab', their screaming ads, and tracking.

You all managed to change my mind about humans, too! I really liked other animals so much better than humans back then. Okay, I still think I prefer animals but the scales have changed 😸
