One of Bonfire's premiere social features is Circles, which is kind of like a hybrid between an Access Control list and a Mastodon collection. We've been testing this feature for a while, and one of the more interesting use-cases has involved creating Starter Packs for Discovery purposes.


Circles can also be used to create custom feeds in Bonfire, which we're continuing to experiment with. If you're using Fedizen, you can follow everyone in a circle at the click of a button!

One of our first experiments with curation and discovery in #Bonfire involves building public-facing actor collections, and then building custom feeds out of those.


In Bonfire, the data sources for custom feeds are Circles, which is a combination of a Collection plus Access Control List. These aren't custom feeds yet, but will be used to power community curation on the instance.
