私のサイトのRSSを登録すると、記事を新規登録したタイミングじゃないときにも Slack の RSS が動いてしまう問題がおきててそれがサイト更新のモチベーションを低くしていたのだけど、今日重い腰を上げて新規投稿がない限り rss.xml が一ミリも変化しないようにする対応をついにやった。これでサイトを整備する意欲が回復した。

なんか私のサイトの「自己紹介」のページ、なんでかよくわからんけど FSF のアソシエイトメンバーのバナーが表示されてないなあと思ったら、だいぶ前に設定した Content-Security-Policy の考慮もれのせいだった。

I tried out Indigo (a new client app that merges Bluesky and Mastodon into one feed). First stumbling block was getting signed in on the Bluesky side - I've moved my data to Eurosky, and needed to open the custom option to set that as my server.
It looks nice! But, I'm not currently planning to subscribe in order to post - I have a range of other apps that let me post. It seems like an interesting idea, I wish them well! For iOS users who straddle open social networks, it might be worth a look.

The inherent assumption is that any id will have an AS2 representation, but this isn't a valid assumption, because non-AS2 resources exist on the Web (and in fact vastly outnumber AS2 resources).
Every id value is expected to be an identifier of an ActivityPub object. When it resolves to something else, like an HTML document, we conclude that the identifier is not valid.
Fediverse != Web
Hong Minhee, who develops the Fedify library, indicated that overriding the term definition of "href" to be a literal string instead of a URI reference was intended to avoid dereferencing ids that don't have AS2 representations.
@hongminhee So, Fedify returns a string and delegates the decision to the user?
Sounds reasonable. By default, hrefs do not point to ActivityPub objects.

関西電力美浜原発3号機で、高圧タービン付近から蒸気が漏れ原子炉を手動停止した問題で、関電は12日、タービンの上部カバーの一部に約8センチの亀裂が見つかったと発表した。作業員が蒸気漏れに気付く約10分前から上部カバーの温度が徐々に低下しており、亀裂から蒸気が漏れ出たとみられる。

While we’re incredibly proud of Indigo and the work we’ve put into it so far, we’re equally excited about its future and being able to iterate and improve it in collaboration with its users. We’ve got so many great features planned and we can’t wait to share more.

What’s really special about Indigo is how quickly you stop thinking about Bluesky and Mastodon as separate destinations. Building on our work for Croissant, Indigo makes it as easy as possible to post to both networks and to share posts between them.
Of course, if you only use one service, Indigo works great for that too.

It difficult to answer because there are different mental models of AS2:
JSON documents (constrained to look like JSON-LD, but not actually meant to be JSON-LD)
JSON-LD serialization of RDF subgraphs (for communication, storage and other purposes).
Some kind of HTML-ish/WWW document

If AS2 is serialized RDF then a “link” is an edge in the RDF graph. A JSON-LD “direct link” just means the RDF object was not embedded in a specific subgraph serialization. Note that, even if the RDF object is embedded in the serialization, there’s still a link when the representation is deserialized back to RDF.
I agree that an AS2 link, in this RDF sense, is not required to refer to resources with a specific media type. In other words, they are not required to only reference AS2 documents.
(Side note: from this perspective, as:Link is a reified “link” or relationship. The as:Link objects’s href property should be an @id, because it’s a reference to a resource. See also: When use a literal for a URI in Linked Data)
If AS2 is considered to be plain JSON, then the meaning of “link” becomes relatively muddled for me. It’s even more muddled if one interprets AS2 as HTML rather than Linked Data. Note that AS2 can be used in ways that have no relationship to the HTML/HTTP Web. Although the AS2 spec describes as:Link as being closely related to the concepts in RFC5988, “closely related” means “somewhat different”. However, the differences are not clearly described so this just leads to more confusion IMO.

i'm currently using @domain.com@domain.com as a solution someone suggested to me a year ago but i find it a bit hacky and looking for a proper solution
It's not a bad solution IMO.
Maybe @snarfed.org has some ideas on how to do it better because domain handles are popular on Bluesky

@mbajur The other problem, as you can see above with @me is that if mastodon finds a nick on the local server, they will link it automatically, though I think you could argue that this is a misfeature from past times (it does not even open a dropdown)

@mbajur I’m just a little afraid of the case where you are replying to a toot that uses @domain nicks, because it might happen that they are dropped
It would be interesting to test whether mastodon links to people in replies by their href already, or whether it tries to do (cached) webfinger again when you hit reply, because if they use the href from the previous toot it could already work in replies.

@mbajur Ah yes, I’ve seen many people with single-user instances use something like @me@named.domain, which is super unfortunate because quoting them will show “@me”.
I think what you want to do has a lot of value here … so I guess the steps are:
1) implement webfinger to resolve @domain to the one actor, and @user@domain to point *to the same actor* (so you can mention them on platforms that don’t yet implement the new style quotes)
2) Publish an FEP about this new webfinger extension
