@mittorn I simply don't enjoy spending hours working around self-imposed limitations. That's it really. You already know my stance on Linux, this is just an extension of that.

Android Market was cool. Google maps was cool too that time. But none of glitchy modern kotlin/flutter "app" with dependency hell and hundreds supply chain backdors have any relation to comfort...

@grishka this might cause much unwanted activity and telemetry. google play is just useless shit,since 2011 (maybe GP 3.x versions), so i do not see any reason keeping it enabled even if you are using google services and apps

@zxguesser @seabass in my personal experience the receiver would just display whatever.
Here are my recent experiments btw, every page is full of errors, but it's a miracle this decoder managed to recover anything at all:

@mittorn I do use Google apps quite a lot so it's not really an option. I just wish Google Play didn't act like it owns my entire goddamn phone

@seabass @grishka each page is protected by a 16 bit CRC, which as far as we can see was only ever used by the teletext adapter.
There is no error correction of page content only detection, so errors from poor signal/tuning etc. just cause it to loop around downloading the pages until they're all received intact.

I think your recommendation is good, however resolving webfinger mentions to an activity feels off... I will give it more thought
