I keep tapping the top right corner to get to DMs, but they're now in the bottom bar *and* use a different icon. This is what I mean when I say you as a developer or designer should never mess with users' muscle memory.

I've been using Instagram mods for over 5 years, but the one I've been on longest stopped getting updated in 2023. So, yesterday, I switched to a different mod that's based on one of the latest app versions. This means three years of changes all at once.

Some of these changes leave me perplexed:
1. When you open a post from a DM, it opens full-screen like a reel. Even if it's just a post
2. You seemingly can't see the complete list of people who liked a reel
3. They moved buttons around AGAIN

@julienbidoret I understand your point of view. I used to spread some basic concept and to stay in this area. Sometime, imposing stricter rules exclude a part of the public that could be impacted, rejecting them. Restricting smolweb concept to people also refusing AI usage is not the way I think. Refusing AI is a different struggle (that is also legit).

Third release candidate for v0.22.0 of #GoToSocial!

Compared to rc2:

Unfollow relay actor if no connections exist targeting that actor (allows retrying establishing relay connection by removing all connections to an actor + creating a new one).
Fix erroneus use of RelayConnectionCreateRequest when updating a relay push.
Don't error on db.ErrNoEntries in OnMediaDereference callback.
Disable outgoing http2 requests until superseriousbusiness/httpsig is updated, as our signatures were getting messed up by http2 transport.
Only mark status as edited for streaming hooks if edited_at column has changed.
Remove admin check on user-level relay push matchers.
Set statuses-cleanup-remote-older-than to "0s", skip scheduling if 0.
Fingers crossed this is the last one :)
