@ekaitz_zarraga @dthompson @pjotrprins @sharlatan

To be explicit, for people to feel comfortable voicing their opinion, there needs to be trust in the group/environment. Mocking those who hold a point of view make it less likely that they will express that point of view. The trust is broken not only with the people that hold those opinions. Other people may start to wonder will I be mocked for expressing a minority view? ---Attachments--- image: https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/117/009/590/293/796/941/original/05345591b7ac4153.png
---Reply--- Jelle Licht@Jlicht@toot.community (2026-07-31 04:38:24) @PuercoPop @ekaitz_zarraga @dthompson @pjotrprins @sharlatan who _exactly_ was mocked here? It seems like @dthompson and @cwebber clowning around and mocking themselves while making a salient point (potentially inappropriate time and place notwithstanding).

@Jlicht @PuercoPop @ekaitz_zarraga @pjotrprins @sharlatan @cwebber we chose to incorporate humor to make our serious point in an engaging way. I know it's not to everyone's taste but that's okay and it certainly does not punch down or mock anyone in the project. the satire was pointed in the direction of the big AI companies (specifically SpaceXAI in this case) that have created the mess that we all have to deal with now. using an AI chat bot to draft a pro-LLM policy for Guix felt appropriate to show what it looks like to embrace this technology, a sort of preview of things to come.
