@trevdev @dthompson I believe the distinction is between language specific package managers, such as cargo, NPM, or poetry, and system package managers, apt, pamac and so on.

The former is where the rub is, as they become enforced borders of parochialism and cause packagers of applications to lose the ability to extract dependencies.
