@kineticdiplomacy Not just you. I looked into implementing some of the standards on my static site when I got back into building websites again, but ultimately didn't see the point of going through all that hassle... 

I'm perfectly content to just connect with other websites via simple hyperlinks. I don't feel any burning desire to give other webmasters a heads up that I've linked to them, nor do I need to know when anyone has linked to me.

@aetheranne @kineticdiplomacy I'm in the same boat. I can email people if I need to notify them of something. What I like about the indieweb is that it can move at a slower pace.

I think the idea behind the IndieWeb is still simple. But everyone adds different elements to it and tries to convince others, through words or actions, that their concept is the best.

It’s a bit like a plain notebook, which is fully functional, but someone has decided to turn it into a system for managing every aspect of their life. And they’re trying to force this sort of multi-tool down other people’s throats.
