@tully my biggest concern is you end up accidentally or unknowingly liking a real asshat and getting on their radar, but that is generally a risk on the fediverse and in particular with my app since I make it easy to like and boost with a single tap (in contrast to #phanpy for example where you have to bring up a menu)

@tully I could change the like button to show a menu/prompt for whether you want to like one or both (which maybe is what you were originally asking), and then for consistency I would probably change boost to a menu for consistency also (I think most of the platforms I support have boost visibility options, e.g. maybe you just want to boost to followers), which would be pulling back from my original idea making liking/boosting single-tap quick and easy, but it wouldn't be the first time.
