Volker Türk has been re-elected as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. 

As the French delegation to the UN calls out, the US has been siding with a list of countries not really known for respecting human rights ...

France called out the US for siding with Human Rights offenders in blocking the nomination of Volker Türk.

Now, the US walked out during France's intervention at the UN:
"I must point out that there is a member of this Council that will feign moral outrage and pretend to lecture the rest of us about every topic, whether it’s about the very conflict we’re discussing yet again today, or even those unrelated to international peace and security, like human rights."
