Turns out we don't have any postmarketOS device port for x86 except in the archived category, and therefore we don't have any users on this architecture. So we are now dropping x86 (not x86_64!) from postmarketOS edge to save some build times. It never was in a stable version.

🎉 A major milestone for open source graphics on Android: Turnip is now the first Mesa driver to achieve official Vulkan conformance on Android.
The work also brings improved Android integration, shared Vulkan runtime infrastructure, and real-device CI testing on Qualcomm Adreno hardware.

v2026.08.0 is available! The biggest internal change is an update to the barebox build system, which is based on Linux' Kbuild/Kconfig, but had diverged over the years.
But there's also some user-facing improvements, among them:
- NVMe now works on the RK3588, (motivated by #mnt_pocket support)
- USB reliability fixes
- Support for 4K block sizes
- EXTLINUX support (in addition to existing bootloader spec)
For this and more, see last month's release announcement:

Searching for bug wranglers
We are searching for additional helping hands on our GitLab.
Offering sources for thousands of packages requires triaging (and sometimes closing)
the many issues that users report over time.
As a bug wrangler you would be helping the distribution with triaging tickets across
all package source repositories...
