by far the hardest part about making a custom web-based editor is the UI. the web platform does not make things easy for you. I have written and rewritten the UI code numerous times.

@dthompson This is why I've been saying for many years now that we need something that's like HTML but is actually designed for interactive graphical apps rather than havng that ability shoe-horned in via CSS, JS, and additions to HTML.
