are the captains we see in star trek movies just so good they can get away with regularly stealing ships and stuff like that or is stealing a ship just a thing they expect every captain to do once in a while

post-scarcity in star trek always felt to me more like vulcan-inspired strict dystopian social propaganda Earth governments want people to believe and pretend is true, especially if you work in for governments, than it being a real fact. everything else in the lore indicates that assigning resources, transporting them around, ensuring control over them, are core concerns of the system.
