#postdoc #hiring - I have a 1-year opening to be started early next year (possibility for 1-year renewal) in #hci and #edtech in a Horizon Europe project on adolescents' reflective usage of digital media. The ideal candidate will be interested in mixed methods research design, and in designing and evaluating engaging and reflective technology in this area. Contact me for questions, applications must be via the job portal: https://jobs.tugraz.at/en/jobs/0bffdb1b-7815-4306-8044-e5f674b58f6e

Quick update: implementation of FEP-22cd has started in Fedify (PR #1038). Once it's reviewed and merged, it'll ship in Fedify 2.4.0, which I'm aiming to release within September.

Mastodon updated to v4.7.2, a critical security update. Is anyone else surprised that you don't have to run the bundle / yarn / RAILS_ENV steps in the last few patches? A happy surprise for me!

Behold, this tree in Blender is made out of metaballs and paint strokes in grease pencil that I then turned into tubes. Quick and dirty. I need to make a lot of these with variation, and they just need to be "good enough", and this works!

I learnt photo editing around a year ago, taught by my ex.
when taking a photo, I never look at the result. I just see nice thing, capture it, then end of the day. it has been that way, til finally my ex gave me a tips for a simple and quick photo editing, through highlight and shadow to adjust or focus where people should watch the object in our photo. ever since being taught with my ex, I always edit it, then send to her, then she approved.
that was very small and happy day yet I think revolutionary to my life right now

Welp KDE is apparently going "AI-native" and are manufacturing consent for it by hosting talks about how "AI is the future" and "a handful of upstream changes [...] will turn KDE into the first shell that treats AI as infrastructure", and blocking people who criticize this shit on fedi 😬
