Reply to @ailurocrat@scicomm.xyz The Spritely Institute@spritely@social.coop (2026-10-16 00:20:14) @ailurocrat We're trying to make it as easy to host as possible! Though the Guix service will be helpful for Guix users, the general approach should be possible on any Linux distro, and we'd love to get our relay daemon supported on other distros such as Debian, Fedora, etc!

3mdeb firmware engineers have been quite busy this year working on porting Coreboot and openSIL to an AMD Ryzen AM5 MSI motherboard and similarly getting openSIL and Coreboot up and running on a Gigabyte server motherboard for AMD EPYC 9005 CPUs. They haven't forgotten about their past projects though and today released an updated version of their Dasharo downstream firmware for the ASRock Ra…

--double(x) is not a valid variable name in CSS though

Reply to @spritely@social.coop The Spritely Institute@spritely@social.coop (2026-10-15 23:37:48) Also, special shout out to @nlnet who funded this project and @tsyesika for doing all the hard work developing it!

This project resulted in several huge deliverables:
- E2EE OCapN relays!
- Support for them in Spritely Goblins, which all Goblins users can benefit from!

And to be released soon:
- A specification for a Noise E2EE netlayer for OCapN as well as the relay netlayer that composes with it
- A Guix service so guix'y people can host this easily

We're very excited about all this and are very grateful to @nlnet and @NGIZero for the support <3

yuanchuan@yuanchuan@vis.social (2026-10-15 23:35:24) I finally added function to css-doodle, with the syntax I think is shortest:

--double(x): $(x * 2);

A variable-like structure but with () is treated as a function, Somehow I with CSS supports this natively.

Relays are federated (there is "official relay", you can easily run your own) but also oblivious, and merely manage routing encrypted messages. A big milestone!
