fail2banも、パスワード設定ログインが無効なサーバーだと態々サードパーティーのソフトを入れる方がリスクあるんじゃないかと思っている。
ログを減らしたいなら接続元IPアドレスを制限するほうが効率がいい。攻撃は、有象無象のパスワード試行とかなら受けても対した害がないし、標的にされてるんならfail2banはあんまり意味がない。

リモートシェルについては色々神話があるけど
、接続元IPアドレスを制限したOpenSSHと同じ程度のセキュリティを確保する為にVPNとかを色々入れるのは不要だと思う

We've seen quite a few foreign accounts signing up at electricrequiem.com lately, I suppose to try Catodon, since it's the biggest server showing up on FediDB. But it's a greek-speaking community server - please use catodon.rocks if you want to try Catodon (and, even better, set up your own server if you like it and if you know how to do it!)

他でドメイン名登録してるならCNAMEでのcloudflare使えばいい気がするけど。
レジストラがcloudflareだとレジストリの基準以外でBANされた時も復旧に数週間かかる可能性がある。結構abuse報告悪用されてなかったっけ

cloudflareが死ぬ時はwebが死んでいるので許容という意見が多くて、それはそうなんだけどcfが死ななくてもcfにBANされて死んでるのは割と見るからリスクでは？
