Just added a small feature in Catodon, which might not sound that important but it's a quality of life improvement that I think Sharkey and Misskey admins will appreciate: You can now set "Alt names" for custom emoji - other names that still work, even if they are not advertised as the specific emoji's name. This helps a lot when you want to rename or delete an emoji, but you know that past posts on your server will now look like :abandonedEmojiName:. Now, when you rename a custom emoji, the old name is automatically added to its Alt names, so that any post that still has the old name works. Or, if you delete a custom emoji, you can add its name as an existing similar emoji's alt name.

Oh thank fedora foundation they got a GUI way of doing this
Installing Free and Nonfree Repositories
We have two separate software repositories:
free for Open Source Software (as defined by the Fedora Licensing Guidelines) which the Fedora project cannot ship due to other reasons
nonfree for redistributable software that is not Open Source Software (as defined by the Fedora Licensing Guidelines); this includes software with publicly available source-code that has "no commercial use"-like restrictions
Installation can be done either using a web browser, or via the command line.
Please also check the dedicated Multimedia page for well known additional post-install steps.
See a more dedicated page for OSTree Systems (such as Silverblue, Kinoite and CoreOS)
Also worth to mention is the CommonBugs sections.
Graphical Setup via Firefox web browser
1. First enable access to the free repository. For users of gpk (gnome package kit) or kpackagekit in Fedora that is easy and basically only one step: just click on one of the following files, depending on what distribution you use and then follow the default options that Firefox and Package Kit offer by clicking Enter a few times (¹):
RPM Fusion free for Fedora 43
RPM Fusion free for Fedora 44
RPM Fusion free for Fedora Branched and what will become Fedora 45
RPM Fusion free for Fedora Rawhide
RPM Fusion free for RHEL 8 or compatible like CentOS Stream
RPM Fusion free for RHEL 9 or compatible like CentOS Stream
RPM Fusion free for RHEL 10 or compatible like CentOS Stream

The Observer linked the barcode on the "Transgender Student Union" mailers to Snailworks, a mail tracking company. Snailworks received federal campaign payments from only one group in 2026: the National Republican Congressional Committee.
The NRCC told us it had nothing to do with the mailers. https://www.texasobserver.org/ken-paxton-james-talarico-texas-senate-october-surprises-pure-disinformation/

Girl Named Zero

After many hours of digging through many forums, I found a fix that works for me. Put the following in your launch arguments:
RADV_PERFTEST=video_decode,video_encode DRI_PRIME=1 ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamVR/bin/vrmonitor.sh %command%
(Note, your path to vrmonitor.sh might be different, but as long as you have steamvr installed to your home partition instead of somewhere else, it's probably fine, so if it fails, check that first)
After doing that, I got a different error, I think it was error 1202. To fix that, I had to run:
sudo dnf swap mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers-freeworld
I'm not sure if this second step is necessary on systems other than fedora, but from my understanding, fedora's default vulkan drivers don't include support for h265, but if you swap from the default driver to the freeworld version, you get that support and it works.
I'm still working on getting the desktop view to show once I'm connected to the pc, because currently, it just shows a black screen with my mouse on it. Other than that, you can still launch games through steamvr's interface just fine
One more thing, I noticed that I couldn't open the vr dashboard, it would appear for a few seconds and then disappear momentarily. I can't remember if this is correct, but I think I just had to restart my pc after swapping to the freeworld drivers, I'll update this if I find the real solution. If this does happen to you, I think I was still able to launch games from my desktop, I just couldn't open the overlay in vr.

Why do Apple and Windows get away with playing videos and having workable drivers fine but Linux users have to manually install codecs like this :/
This just ain't fair.
