Tokodon is pretty cool. So far it's been a better experience than any other frontend I've tried. Notifications seem to be loaded dynamically. And it's a native KDE app!
There are a couple things that could be better. There is an option in the settings to enable link previews, but it doesn't seem to work. Notification sounds would be cool.

OSSCA 2026 has started, and Fedify is joining for the second year. 24 mentees will work on Fedify, Hollo, BotKit, DrFed, and Feder over the next four months, with some of that work likely to continue after the program ends.
OSSCA, the Open Source Software Contribution Academy, is a South Korean mentorship program that connects developers with active open source projects. @2chanhaeng and @z9mb1, both Fedify co-maintainers who first came to the project through OSSCA 2025, are mentoring this year's cohort. Welcome, everyone.

Next Bcachefs Release Aims To Include Rust Code In The Kernel Module
The Bcachefs file-system already makes use of the Rust programming language in the user-space tools for this CoW file-system and they have been planning to make use of Rust within the kernel module too. Beginning in the next Bcachefs release, v1.38.7, they are looking at beginning to include Rust code now in their kernel driver...

You can now change your recovery passphrase without the old one (you can also use biometrics or PIN to make the process simpler). Profiles gain a mention and direct message shortcut, a blocked domain indicator (with an unblock button), and feed headers show a notifications shortcut with an unread badge.
It also brings several fixes around sync, cleanup and notification badges.
