@katco yeah same. it's tough to implement that feature, though, because a lot of little things get built from source which are okay and normal. need some way of distinguishing what's okay and what's not.

@dthompson I have often thought it'd be useful to have a "--never-build" flag or something.
Sometimes I don't mind, but more often than not, I ^c and come back when the substitutes are around.

@jay you don't always know who the offender is and if it's only one thing. in this case I could have fixed my problem without rebooting but I didn't know that at the time. it's nice to just rollback to the previously working system config when you aren't sure what went wrong.

@baleine okay I'm back in action! a second restart did the trick and I didn't have to manually delete /etc/resolv.conf. thanks for the protip!

@baleine since 'guix pull' was getting stuck, I took a look in ls /var/guix/profiles/per-user/ to see the generation numbers I had and deleted old ones until 'guix pull -l' no longer tried to do any git stuff. I kinda forgot guix pull had generation management 😅

you read a headline like this and get your hackles up and then you read what the plugin actually does (sonic analysis of all your own samples to play the most-alike sound to the last sound heard) and you're like, this is not what people think "an AI sampling plugin" would be
