For those that haven't noticed (Hopefully most folks), I've updated #MastodonAppUK and #Universeodon to the latest Mastodon release tonight. I think for the most part it shouldn't have had any obvious impact other than a short blip on Universeodon while the web server rebooted (I haven't quite had a chance to setup a second web server for Universeodon yet!). 

I think we've got the process of upgrades working a lot better and keeping in-step with the releases has been a lot easier than it was!

unix向けソフトウェア 疎結合で縦書きなんかのためのフラグはないから、かなり根本的に縦書き対応できないものが多い

#Fedilab 3.43.0 is available!

It now targets Android 16, with lower memory usage and better stability for long sessions. Timelines load faster with a large cache, and you can set how long cached posts are kept.

Also fixed: voice recording, audio picker, animated GIFs, push on non-Mastodon software, account switching crashes and more.

現Xって「おすすめ」を見ろと言はんばかりの設計だけど、大体そこにはAI翻訳スパムによる大量のリプが未だにぶら下がってる。あの様子からすると、実はもうWebサービスとしては末期に入りつつあるのかも知れない。

日本古典文学系のレポートを最近書いていると、いろんなオープンソフトウェアが縦書きを想定していないことに気づく。
macOSのIMEはエレガントな感じで縦書きさせてくれて、思想がうかがえる。

@theruran no LLM commits have been accepted into Guix. Whether this should be allowed or not is currently up for debate. Guix has its own decision making process separate from GNU.

@dthompson Will GNU not release a blanket policy? The Emacs project, rather infamously, rejected LLM contributions recently.
