we were all bracing for it but the steam machine price reveal is sad. but on the bright side we have a lot of new ai data centers!

imo the 512gb of storage in the base model is not worth it. just not enough space given how big games are now. I will be sticking with steam deck until the prices come down after the butlerian jihad.

@dthompson I think it is impressive what they have done with their power budget and case size, but agreed the price is pretty bad.

@dthompson I'm glad we replaced our older PC in late 2024 cause we probably couldn't afford to now. Fingers crossed that my daily driver lasts through this.

Lucky for me at least I'm often 10-20 years behind on playing new games.

@dthompson It's pretty competitive given the current hardware situation. A PS5 Pro is $900 and the Steam Machine isn't going to have the kind of sale at scale that Sony does IMO
