Compared to rc2:
Unfollow relay actor if no connections exist targeting that actor (allows retrying establishing relay connection by removing all connections to an actor + creating a new one).
Fix erroneus use of RelayConnectionCreateRequest when updating a relay push.
Don't error on db.ErrNoEntries in OnMediaDereference callback.
Disable outgoing http2 requests until superseriousbusiness/httpsig is updated, as our signatures were getting messed up by http2 transport.
Only mark status as edited for streaming hooks if edited_at column has changed.
Remove admin check on user-level relay push matchers.
Set statuses-cleanup-remote-older-than to "0s", skip scheduling if 0.
Fingers crossed this is the last one :)

The ActivityPub Trust & Safety Task Force is looking for a new Co-Lead (I'm stepping down because I'm leading the Social Web Working Group now).

There are a lot of reasons I've been in a creative funk recently but one of them is the chilling effect where I think about the inevitable LLM plagiarism that will occur and I think, huh, do I really want to release anything publicly? I feel myself more drawn to making stuff that never goes on the internet at all.
Like, the idea of playing in a bar band around town feels more inviting than the idea of creating a cool web-based toy like I used to.

I'm concerned about how well using red and green to highlight diffs works with color blindness, but it seems standard, or at least that's what codeberg and github use.

Running a #LibreTranslate server takes work behind the scenes. My latest optimization adds a parallel queue system to avoid killing the service when it gets abused, but it can introduce immediate 503 errors for some users when the service is under heavy load. I will work on a smooth balance to stop bot abuse and avoid Fedilab/Holos users being restricted.

Another new improvement is highlighting of usernames when someone mentions you. They now use a bold yellow highlight to stand out from regular mentions.

With recent news of vmst.io shutting down ( https://vmst.io/@vmstan/116757564108266599 ) I've decided to open up registrations on yttrx because I believe in an open internet ( https://peteftw.com/~pete/2026/04/the-open-internet.html )
I'm taking some actions to protect yttrx from abuse, including a new @bot account that will automatically act upon abuse reports against new users.
Hopefully this will help us to maintain an open fediverse while protecting small instances like ours from abuse.

@aslakr I convert the HTML to plain text before passing it to TextDiffing, so it's not going to catch formatting changes. Unfortunately, the edit history doesn't include the typed-in source, only the HTML generated by the server.
