A bit of a shameless #ad or #plug
I've been running a small hosting business since 2013 now and we have been offering unmanaged virtual private servers (VPS) for probably around the last 10 years or so.
I'm running an offer now where we've got some spare capacity on our infrastructure, they're all KVM servers so they aren't over-sold or over-capacity nodes. Due to the huge price hikes in IPv4 space the main cost for us right now is that IP space so all the offers are for larger VPS's, ideal for folks wanting to setup game servers or run larger sites / services on them (Also great for folks that want to run their own Fedi software ;) )
The offer page is here - https://clients.superior-networks.com/order/main/index/2026-special and I'm planning to run the offer either until the end of 2026 now or until we run out of capacity on the current infrastructure.

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this.
Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how.
Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

BIOS書き換え、PCIeの世代固定とか色々試したけど変わらず
Z87の方ではやっぱり問題にゃい
何だこれ…？
13世代の方のマザボが変なのかと思ってテスト用のグラボ挿したけどそれは問題なく動いた…

@adele as someone you linked to, I have to say I cannot wrap my head around someone being so pro-smol web and yet also so pro-LLM and genAI.
There is nothing small or low-tech about these corporate technologies that require the entire world's supply of random access memory and data centres the size of villages that make real people sick and ill.
I am so tired of this.
