Over the last few days I’ve added push notifications to #Vernissage for iOS. After some initial testing, they’re working really well! I designed it so they work automatically on every instance (including self-hosted ones) without any extra setup, keys, requests, or manual configuration. I’ll keep testing a bit more, and I’m planning to release the new version next week so everyone can use it. 😊

The atproto permissioned space proposal is out. Seems to be more or less as described in earlier blog posts. It's an ACL system where each space has a central gatekeeper that maintains the list of who has read privilege. Spaces are partitioned amongst many repos but all repos have to be queried to get the complete history so it's unlike distributed version control in that no one has a full copy of the data. If I were a prospective user of this I'd be concerned with confused deputy vulnerabilities and repo availability.

Rust Coreutils cp Ended Up Breaking Ubuntu Image Builds With Latest Incompatibility
While the Rust Coreutils offers better memory safety than GNU Coreutils due to being written in the Rust programming language, subtle incompatibilities continue to be spotted in the Rust Coreutils implementations of the different commands. The latest coming to light this week was the Rust Coreutils cp command breaking Ubuntu image builds due to differences in argument handling...

ゲームで使用する画像形式はfarbfeldにしよう。ファイルサイズが大きくなるけれど、それ以外には悩むところが無い。アルファチャンネルありの無圧縮画像なのでピクセルの値を順番に取り出すだけ。

hmm although i've already got my own profile website, this is my incognito account and linking to the site reveals my identity (i rather hate someone to link my true identity to this one though), but i reckon there's many who wanna know more about me beyond the masto's tiny and easily-become-long-n-chaos bio section as i'm one of them, i reckon i should make a tiny page somewhere, borrwoing or renting someone's namespace.. :thonking:

Linux Preparing To Retire Its 32-bit MSR Interfaces
Currently measuring in at 32 patches, SUSE engineer Juergen Gross has been leading the effort to end the Linux kernel's usage of their 32-bit model specific register (MSR) interfaces so the more modern 64-bit interfaces can be exclusively used. This allows for better code unification and cleaning up the MSR code...
