@silverpill @xaetacore @Saorsa yeah we don't know why they're using a proprietary JSON instead of using the outbox.json that every other software uses.
Codeberg Status@codebergstatus@social.anoxinon.de (2026-05-09 02:07:58)
It has been in the works for months, but the recent increase of downtime has accelerated work. We've moved from Caddy to HAProxy for codeberg.org traffic.
Starting over with a new reverse proxy has enabled us to make choices that enable us to set up HAProxy to scale with our increasing traffic. For example, traffic is split (when possible, decided via heuristics) over several instances to load balance expensive traffic.
We hope to share more details at a later time about this change.

@caohuak @xaetacore @Saorsa I already have it somewhere. They really should support exporting into standard ActivityPub outbox format.

@mariusor It is possible that the signature is incorrect, but my own verifier can verify the signature. I assume that my verifier is good enough because it is compatible with several known RFC-9421 implementers (fedify, tootik, etc).
Another data point: mastodon.social accepts my RFC-9421 signed POST request, returns 202.
Components used in the signature base: @method, @target-uri, content-digest, @signature-params.

@silverpill @xaetacore @Saorsa >but I don't know if Misskey provides these exports
Misskey/Sharkey outputs a single JSON file, but it's different from the outbox.json used by Mastodon or Pleroma. I can DM you an example via Matrix.

Should I install my own #Forgejo server to help #Codeberg?
I only have a few repositories, so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

@silverpill it's not that, the key online matches the public key in cache.
Have you tested the key generation against some known vectors?
The only explanation I can come up with is that the signature is somehow incorrect... :(
(On my side I checked the verifier against the test examples given in the RFC9421, so I'm 90% confident the code should work as intended)

@silverpill gaaah!! 😱
Thank you.
The log is just telling me the signature failed verification:
err="actor IRI https://mitra.social/users/silverpill: verification failed: invalid signature: crypto/rsa: verification error"
Did you by any chance update your key recently? (I might use a locally cached version that's out of date, version in cache is since May 2025)

I believe that AI generated advertisements are a big red flag waving in my face to stay far away from whatever is being advertised -- but I especially believe AI generated political advertisements should be a crime, and one punishible by prison rather than fine.
Keep that AI bs away from me.

I freaking ♥️ public transport!
Currently I have my drivers license for over 15 years now but never had to own a car. Ofc I totally understand the #Netherlands is relative small, dense and flat compared to some massive countries but we also invest a lot in public infrastructure!
Besides from being able to bike almost anywhere in the country, most places also have public transport cover
Good stuff! #NL

If you knew the collection ID of another instance’s users, you could in theory send them activities that would be forwarded (or not) by that other instance. (Say you knew of an “instance actor” that linked to its “users” collection.)
I guess the nodeinfo could be use to share the instance’s users collection id ? Would you recommend to use absolute or relative identifiers ? From my pov absolute is easier to handle ^^
This is all known as “identity by description”, as opposed to “identity by name” which is a thing you can do to enable easier reuse.
Since the FEP do not forbid it this kind of use case if allowed, but it think we should encourage the use of ids.
trwnh:The “responsibility” is implicitly tied to the id. If you have a “metadata provider” then you can notify them of any new Audio objects referencing it (which is I think what you are proposing with the “source of the track” stuff described above?).
yes this was my proposition. But the problem comes when the tracks has a mbid. Various AP track with different ids can share the same mbid. So we should send the audio create activity to each one of them.
trwnh:If you’re using Musicbrainz to provide Track metadata then why not use their database directly? Otherwise, you could link a metadata provider’s data by declaring it as being equivalent to the Musicbrainz entities.
because not all audio files or tracks have mbids. When they have we use their db. The proposition was to use \musicbrainzId\ on any audio object. I updated the FEP explaining the relation between AP audio objects and MusicBrainz audio objects. A funkwhale track is a musicbrainz recording.
