Since no good deed goes unpunished, I am putting up my Sept survival goal. We housed some family for 2 weeks, 3 kids & 2 adults, which means increased utilities. They also brought us covid, so starting off the semester great. Utilities & food is all I'm fundraising for this month.
300 utilities (electric, gas, water)
200 food

Block links in Obsidian technically work. But they show up as a string of meaningless numbers in your note, and IMHO, it looks kinda messy.
Heading links do the exact same job but still read like actual language. If you’re going to link to parts of your notes, use these instead.
Same shortcut, but one version you'll actually want to look at again.

Mysterious x86 CPU Already Has APX, x86S Where Intel Left Off For Legacy-Free x86
The mystery deepens around an x86 implementation from a corporate entity other than AMD and Intel and has been making some very intriguing changes for coming from a seeming start-up. Beyond 16 tile and 32 tile AMX implementations that already surpass Intel's current Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) capabilities in shipping Xeon CPUs, new disclosures were made today concerning Advanced Perf…

- than the pearl-clutching of white folk who get their knickers in a twist about things like 'but spirit of the fediverse' and 'censorship' and 'stifling conversation' (I've even seen someone call us 'terrorists' for fediblocking instances that allow bigotry :blobfoxlaughsweat: ) - no, it's racism, and you either take a stand against it or you're complicit, it's as simple as that.
And before we go there *again*, it says very clearly on our /about page that we block liberally for bigotry -

This is why we blocked infosec.exchange today, and this is why we block any instances that we do for racism (our blocklist is public, with reasons, viewable at mastodon.art/about ).
We block instances that have a track record of allowing, and not actioning, racism.
When Black folk tell us repeatedly that they're not safe or welcome on fedi, it's because of shit like this. We have loads of non-white people on our instance and we're putting THEIR safety higher -

NetBSD 9.5 released
Speaking of NetBSD, the fifth and final 9x release has been released.
It represents a selected subset of fixes deemed important for security or stability reasons since the release of NetBSD 9.4 in April 2024. It is fully compatible with NetBSD 9.0.
This also marks the end-of-support for all NetBSD-9.x releases and the netbsd-9 branch. All users still on this branch are urgently asked to upd

Why use an installer to install an operating system, when you can just do it yourself, step by step?
In this post I will cover the installation process of the NetBSD operating system, including disk level encryption. Instead of using the standard installation program (sysinst), I decided to install NetBSD “from scratch”, as a way to dive into the internals, and learn more about the nuts

Pixelix is now free!
After two and a half years of developing Pixelix and having it as a paid app, we've decided to switch things up and make Pixelix free for everyone.
We’re really excited to see where this takes Pixelix, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far.
