FreeBSD 14.5 released
Yesterday we had the final maintenance release for the NetBSD 9.x series, and today we have FreeBSD 14.5 entering the scene.
Since this release is occurring late in a legacy stable branch, there are few new features; rather, the focus is primarily on maintenance. As such, changes since 14.4-RELEASE consist mostly of bug fixes, driver updates, and new versions of externally-maintained soft

Antiquated HTML snippets and artefacts
With ever-changing devices, browsers, operating systems, form factors, specifications, personal preferences, tooling, and corporate interests, the web is in a constant state of flux. As a result, so is the HTML we write. For every line of the HTML specification itself that has changed since the language’s inception, there are many more bits of HTML that have

Getting way more use out of this image than I could have imagined back when a younger and more hopeful version of me saved it to my phone.

I am in contact with Google. Living in Europe and having the GDPR will be the solution. I had to fill in a form for each app, even the banned one (UntrackMe), and it should be enough to have them all removed before I can ask to permanently close my account. Europe is really ahead when it comes to privacy.

@bstn I've got to agree with @alexandra on this one. It's not very accessible for those with low vision. Hopefully you reconsider. Take a look at this resource: https://www.accessibilitychecker.org/
We should always try to keep the #indieweb accessible for everyone.

@vernissage
I've been using Pixelix for Vernissage for a while now and I have to say, they've made a lot of improvements to the app in recent weeks. They've implemented virtually all of Vernissage's features and implemented some views really cleverly. The only thing missing is the AI functionality.

Concerning #FediHood, the most important part is done and it is stable enough. I am not good at promoting things, and I think I have talked about the project enough. I will let it live on its own for a few weeks now and tag the release as 1.0.0.

DLSS5VKLayer Wires Up NVIDIA DLSS 5 For Native Linux Games & Steam Play
An interesting new open-source project for those looking to make use of NVIDIA DLSS 5 on Linux is DLSS5VKLayer. The DLSS5VKLayer is a Linux Vulkan layer that works for both native Linux games as well as Steam Play (Proton) Windows games for experimental DLSS 5 support...

I would like to thank you all for respecting my choice to leave the Google Store. Seeing messages from people joining #FDroid to get the app and sharing their experience with a lot of good feedback made me very happy. What I read most often: F-Droid is easy to use, and the export/import feature works well with #Fedilab.
For push notifications, I recommend using #SunUp
