Mesa 26.3 RADV + RadeonSI Ready With DRM Format Modifiers For Older AMD GPUs
Coming with Linux 7.3 is DRM format modifiers for GFX6 through GFX8 era GPUs covering the original Raddeon HD 7000 (GCN 1.0) graphics cards up through the Polaris and Fiji series. This work by Valve's Timur Kristóf is necessary for these older GPUs to support Vulkan-based Wayland compositors, better interoperability between OpenGL and Vulkan or other APis, compositors running on the Zink OpenGL…

Turns out we don't have any postmarketOS device port for x86 except in the archived category, and therefore we don't have any users on this architecture. So we are now dropping x86 (not x86_64!) from postmarketOS edge to save some build times. It never was in a stable version.

Long-term memory in humans is encoded through synaptic modification during sleep. The lectures make the striking claim that sleep is training — that the consolidation process, in which the hippocampus replays experiences for encoding into cortical networks, is functionally equivalent to a training run. The observation that this process is metabolically expensive (the brain consumes nearly as much energy during sleep as during waking) and temporally demanding (humans sleep roughly a third of their lives; infants, who are learning the most, sleep the most) supports this reading.
