I have been on the Fediverse for 9 years. For personal reasons, I always refused to put myself forward, even at meetups. Speaking publicly is hard for me, especially in a language that is not my mother tongue.
I know it might hurt my work, but I feel more comfortable just doing what I do, even if I miss opportunities.
If what I do helps others, I am happy. That is enough for me. Thank you for your understanding.

With Trump announcing that he is banning news orgs that don't agree with him, I find that the US is slipping further and further into authoritarian fascism. Washington has moved to recreate a new Goebbels fueled by hatred.

@Chloeg @chloe Oh, me too! I show so rarely that I always sort of forget how, and also there's always the stress of publishing. I do have a box of hanging materials, which helps me remember what worked last time.

Lots of nested selectors and imported files are keeping it manageable for now, but will certainly want to flatten the end result into a single file at the very least.

So far so good with a bunch of new (to me) native CSS like variables and grid.
It's when I start getting into override management around responsive treatments, custom page styling, etc. that my stylesheets get unwieldy. Sass mixins always helped tame the complexity when I hit this stage, and I knew how to use them properly to avoid bloat.
I see that native mixins are proposed, but looks like not an option yet. May need Sass after all. https://blog.master.dev/thoughts-on-native-css-mixins/

@AlisonCorfield thanks! One of the many advantages of taping off the border is the ability to break the frame. I kinda wanted the head out on the other side too, but by the time I figured that out, it would have meant repainting it.

May 31. One of the delights of a desert hike is that there are lizards absolutely everywhere. I believe this is an Eastern collared lizard. Spotted south of Cuba, NM.
