@PuercoPop all that stuff would be very possible with the right primitives and I think ocapn plays a role in that. on top of ocapn you could do crdt-based collaborative editing sessions. collaborative structural editing is my long term goal.

@dthompson Lately I've been thinking about distributed Emacs that lets you pair in a peer to peer fashion but doesn't require cloud infrastructure like Zed. Doesn't have to be limited to text. e.j. Peer to peer video. Although trickier it should be possible to leverage capabilities to share a terminal session with limited permissions

@rio
Just watched the video.
To me it sounded like sarcasm. But I also dont understand why they put that "distro" in the presentation in the first place. I mean.... just the amount of serious issues connected to that thing.
The small windows on the sides thingy was kinda interesting but I couldnt realy understand/connect with anything else said there.
Almost felt like a marketing presentation to me.
Overall, with the small AI, the history intent graph etc... it leaves me with a weird feeling

I'm watching the so-called KDE omarchy presentation right now. Guess what? Even the Presenter is "pissed" at AI! When Scott Jenson says "⸮This lovely project¡" and "⸮yeah... I knew that would've gone very well¡" to omarchy, I believe that he was being sarcastic and did not mean those things literally...I really feel that certain malicious users in the fediverse actually took a slide from what we DON'T WANT TO BE section from a presentation where anyone can submit anything, and then framed it as if that's what KDE wants. That is like... really inaccurate! if not, the complete OPPOSITE of what KDE wants! What the heck!?
Many users in the fediverse has believed the malicious actor in bad faith, just to say really mean things to KDE, even going as far as sending death threats to the KDE (former) director and... this is... this is just not right I feel.
I wonder if the malicious actors are getting paid to intentionally cause a civil war from someone...
Anyway, here in this post I attached the infamous KDE omarchy slide where Scott Jenson says "⸮This lovely project¡" and "⸮yeah... I knew that would've gone very well¡" to omarchy that everyone in the Social Networking space is extremely upset about and calling KDE an omerchy supporter (KDE has zero ties with omarchy and I have multiple source to confirm that).
I want to know if y'all actually, from the bottom of your hearts, believes that he actually said those things literally or if he said it as a form of sarcasm.
(note: I actually am really bad at catching sarcasm but I believe that KDE is in good faith till the end so I will assume that what he is saying is sarcasm and not literal...it is still a cringy thing to say though in my opinion and I personally think he could have phrased it better than this)
