On Codeberg, this move was planned for a while and I took the chance to also adopt a formal policy on AI, the one used by Loupe, libadwaita, GNOME Calendar and other parts of GNOME. TLDR: Prohibited. The changelog has a bit more info.
Translations also moved to Codeberg's weblate instance!

- Composer can now load drafts
- Support for converting between Drafts and Scheduled Posts, among many other improvements
- Ability to load media from remote instances
- Proper account search in the advanced search dialog
- Revocation of account tokens on removal
- Use of the new Mastodon character limit fetching APIs
- Adding hashtags to the sidebar doesn't require following them anymore
- Much much much more

- Warning before boosting toots without alt text
- The huge profile rows were replaced with smaller ones, similar to Mastodon's
- Content warnings are preserved in notifications now
- Tuba will now detect revoked tokens and ask you to either re-login or remove the account
- Regularly update stats in threads and check for new replies
- Support for Mastodon's new profile tabs settings
- You can now have both media and polls on supported backends
- Greatly improved focus handling

@tully I could change the like button to show a menu/prompt for whether you want to like one or both (which maybe is what you were originally asking), and then for consistency I would probably change boost to a menu for consistency also (I think most of the platforms I support have boost visibility options, e.g. maybe you just want to boost to followers), which would be pulling back from my original idea making liking/boosting single-tap quick and easy, but it wouldn't be the first time.

@tully my biggest concern is you end up accidentally or unknowingly liking a real asshat and getting on their radar, but that is generally a risk on the fediverse and in particular with my app since I make it easy to like and boost with a single tap (in contrast to #phanpy for example where you have to bring up a menu)

It's been a few months since I visited Japan; as you may recall I was traveling around *a lot*.
Here's a projection of all the places I visited, in numerical order.
Data comes from photo EXIF, plotted on OSM tiles and rendered with a Python script doing some Math.
A big question before I went was whether the Japan Rail Pass was worth it. I contend it was, but would people be interested in an actual analysis to prove that?

@tully Yes, but why not reply, instead? They're going to get a notification of the quote anyway, if it's mastodon. And just recently I saw one of those, it came off as one of those "with all due respect" followed by insult posts. Anyway, you can always unlike the original post if you really don't want to give them the like, the problem with my setup is that it's not obvious that's what's going on since I don't display the liked/boosted icons in the embedded quoted post.

I think Mastodon's new UI design is good. It appears to be evolving in the same direction as #Mitra. For example, our "Lists" are already called "Custom feeds" and there is a hidden "Explore" page which will soon be added to the sidebar, replacing "Local", "Federated" and "Profile directory" (this is to free some space for new features such as groups)

@liaizon in #fedicat you can still post and share the link without anyone stopping you, but in this particular example I would just reply, instead of quoting them and saying look at what this idiot said (although #gotosocial has reply controls), regardless, I don't pretend to have The One True Way of the fediverse, but I do have my way (actually multiple often conflicting ways) that I'm going for, so it's actually nice there are so many clients out there I can try really specific approaches.

@fedicat I get the intention behind it, and I think it is an interesting topic to discus regardless. I guess I personally think there are good uses for "dunking" on things and the idea that everyone must only quote post things for positive reasons is just not how the world works. take for instance the @EUCommission account, most posts there have wonderful qp dunk potential. and you are almost universally punching up as it were.

@liaizon my primary motivation is I feel like quote posts are like stealers, when I'm liking a quote post chances are I really intend to like the original post, and the original poster never gets to see all those likes
